People have played almost every game both Tod Howard and Bethesda itself had to offer. What they had was both fun, well thought of and made every fan want to work there. But the game that got the least amount of love was Rage.
I just didn't sell. People saw it as a Mad Max clone game. After years of people ignoring it, the game still had a fan base and players actively playing it. Through word and rumor the game rocketed 4 years after it's release. People saw that this game was gigantic, but short lived. The game had a short campaign and a lot of side quests.
Now, before you start thinking this is a late review, the game had the master minds of Quake and Doom on this project. At that time people didn't really care and even want to know that. Since the new Doom is coming to consoles and PC's in April, and Bethesda is behind the project mainly, there is a lot, and I mean A LOT of Doom easter eggs. From the Doom Bobble Head...
...To Doom T-Shirts.
...And don't get me started on the gosh darn Pinkies!
They basically must of talked of making a Doom 4 while working on this game. This was probably a test or something to make sure Doom 4 would be great. Of course, the game was ignored, like I said, and this concept was thrown out the window. I believe the new Doom runs on the same Engine, though... Maybe?
Well anyways, the must have hinted to the player or to the audience that the game was coming out soon. But this is all just a theory. A Game-You know what let's not go there. Not that much of a funny reference either.
Plus if you didn't notice, in Doom 3: The Secret Levels, there was even the Rage emblem hidden around hell...
I know this might be some type of homage to Rage, but there has to be a bit more to it. You guys tell me what you think. Do think my theory is some-what true, or do you think it's utter crap? Do you have one of your own? Well, I hope you don't turn out like this guy!
'Til next time...
