Everyone has them, you can't deny it. Even I have them: the not-so-perfect guy you know as StarterPack. I don't have many in real life. I don't get angry when you don't put something in a certain area and position. I do have it in games. I love gaming. It's an art that I want to perfect myself and I'm a big critic with games, so I can judge a game harshly because of a small recurring mistake or glitch. Hello and welcome to this discussion about my Pet Peeves in games and it's culture.

Pervy Devs

I hate it when a serious game has men with awesome body-covering armor, but the woman character has to have the under-boob action with an outfit not fitting for a battle. I know this is a feminist thing to say, but I like logic. When the game has the Elf chick wear a slightly armor thong and skimpy breastplates and has the 300 defense. There's barely anything there! And when a girl fights with in a fighting game with nothing but a string covering partial parts and a shoulder guard is just so stupid. What woman in these worlds are thinking, "Oh! I should wear this outfit my ex-boyfriend bought me from that Extreme Porn Store and Wears. That's good battle armor!" That's why I like Skyrim's armor sets: they don't make the woman so skimpy or sexy in anyway.

Awful Lip-Sink

I don't mind a silent character. I think they're cool, but when a model has bad lip movements, I just want to slap myself. God! Make it look believable at least! I know it's hard to put some complicated software in an already large game, but at least form it to look right! Most of the time I like to leave the game mute to lip-read them as if they don't know how to speak, but can make noise. Sometimes, The mouths stay open for so long that it just looks like they're yelling.

I can understand if the game is large like Skyrim or Fallout, but when the game is small and have enough room for some speech and lip sink programming. Bioshock Infinite bothers me sometimes. When Elizabeth throws you something, watching her talk just erks me. What makes me laugh is how the Lutece Twins have finely tuned lip sink, but somehow Elizabeth just moves her mouth up and down.

Post Launch Glitches

I love it when a game has a funny glitch, but when it's easy to access the glitch, it hard to say it's funny to the developer. Glitches after the title's launch is embarrassing to the developer and I can feel them. I hate seeing them so much and sometimes it destroyed the game's serious atmosphere (if it has one). Skyrim is a good example, the game had some weird glitches in the game. While some were fun, but most were weird. Who has ever gotten the game and found loaded in a room with no floor and whenever you into that grey void, you loaded back where you entered? I have many times. They fixed it after the game's launch, but only made it that happen not so often.

What really hurts me is when the developers don't care for the game or the game is a remaster. Bioshock Infinite is no joke with this one. I got the Collection and found an animation bug where if Elizabeth tosses a coin, the coin stays in mid-air between you and her until the animation where you catch it ends. I hate that! you ruined it! The most infamous part of the game and favorite thing to happen was bugged!

When the Game Talks to the Player

I love games that teach you the new game controls and mechanics. It's cool how developers can do in a small and great game. But when they go out of the way to tell you, the player, what to do, instead of the character. "Press B to do this!" "Got to the Inventory by pressing Start!" "You should level up before attacking this enemy!" Talk to the character I'm playing as, not me! I don't hate meta situation. They make me giggle a bit. But seeing an In-Game character tell the player directly makes the whole game atmosphere break. Why can't the devs tell us through tutorials and messages like in Dark Souls or Final Fantasy.

The Fandom

I don't like fandoms much. They just erk me! Sometimes, fandoms are really fun and they aren't that bad, but most are just aggressive, cringey, hateful of anything else in general. I went to the Undertale fandom page and thought it might be fun, but there was so many little kid drawings and kids discussing whether or not Sans is Ness. I went to the Skyrim fandom page and found everyone dead and silent about the game. There was hardly anything posting and the one guy that kept posting was a picture of a Khajiit ***. Gross if you ask me. I've never liked fandoms, but I started my own on Skyrim. You can join right here, but I started this thing a long time ago and have been on it lately. You can ask to join if you want.

Besides the cringey fandoms, what they do can cause some controversy on the game, show or whatever it is they like. Stereotypes and cliche fans can be called out upon anyone who likes what they like. Fandom is a controversy in of itself and I rather not be apart of what they do. I still encourage you to join my fan club, though....

Franchise Destruction

When I say Franchise Destruction I mean when a company takes an old franchise and does whatever the hell they want with it. Games like Battlefront or Rogue Squadron are victims to these crimes that haven't escaped from their corporate hands. Sometimes they can be great, but hearing a new game from my favorite franchise is going to be owned by EA or Ubisoft is going to make me wanna punch someone in the face. when Sierra was bought out by one of Blizzard's side companies, they fired everyone from the company, hired new people and started to make generic games with little promise. There was a sequel to King's Quest waiting to happen in the early 2000's but never got to see the light of day.

A more recent action was Elder Scrolls Online. I had some promise to this game. I thought this was going to be good, but my thoughts and dreams were crushed when I downloaded the game. First, the game took forever to download. Second, the game was so small. Third, nothing seems fun without buying something. And last, but not least, Tamriel isn't even fully accessible! I hate it when companies do this, even Bethesda's side company, Zenimax!

Locked Content from F2P Players

Image result for TF2 hats

TF2 has an exceptional system for F2P players, but most games like to make the player spend all their money on the game to progress it's story or see what the hell is in that box. Games like Elder Scrolls Online and Destiny bother me so much with that. You want a lot of gold? You gotta do lots more missions that or buy the Gold Digger's Pack for $50! Oh, you want that exclusive piece of armor? Buy some Silver! That will only cost you $30! You want to access more of the world? Your gonna have to buy that season pass for $50. We know that we won't be releasing more content for it, but we need to raise the sales for the season pass!

I just don't like it when developers rely on the player willing to pay a large amount of money to progress in a game or to get some crazy item for better content or gameplay. It has been my hatred upon gaming since my discovery of Clash of Clans.

Unnoticeable Threats

I hate it when games throw all they have at you. If the game has some great mechanics, it can be fun and challenging, but if it's like a bat whacking you in the face while behind a door, not in your line of vision or showing on screen. It's understandable if it's a pattern, can easily be avoided or if you can stop it with a game mechanic, but if the game punishes you for no reason, then I will get mad. I mean how are you gonna see that!? How are you suppose to avoid it?! Famous words from Arin Hanson!

Well those are the few Pet Peeves I can share with ya without making you think I'm weird. I hope you can relate or understand and I most importantly hope you liked this! This was fun and expect a Top 10 soon (If I can put it together right). Again, hope you liked this and 'til next time...
