Dragon Age: Inquisition - Late Review 5/10 (Can Be Fun at Times)

Before you guys start to rage in the comments before reading my reasons why I don't like it, I love RPG's. I truly do! It's one of my prefered games for me and my friends. Although, this is my first Dragon Age game of the series, I still had a lot of experience on some of the controls (Notice the word "Some" in there). Hello Wandering Traveler and welcome to another game review!

In the game, you start with a mysterious journey into the main character's mind and how he is in all this mess. You have a dream of escaping death and hoping to grab the hand of a god-like female figure which helped you escape this dream. You have this mark on you hand from escaping that dream that is slowly killing you, and somehow the key to closing demon portals.

Now, we don't know if they are called demons, I mean the game's lore says they're "Demon-Like with a mysterious name." It said that the people who face them call them "The Dark Ones" which is cool and each of their designs are very interesting and creative! I mean, I'll give some credit there, I thought it was very cool to see them in battle besides a feral dog or bandit in other games like this. But that's all besides the point, the game had some problems that made me mad and plain disappointed, such as the controls.

"But the game was fine with controls and commands, you're just a troll!" is what some of you super fans might have said while reading this! I know, the controls were are laid out fine and very organized, but that was the problem! "Now you're being a troll, StarterPack!" Wait! I'm not done, the controls were very organized and all, but there were to many to actually count! You had two ways of playing the game, either classic Gauntlet top-down, or MMO-style 3rd Person perspective, but there was a series of buttons to press to do so! You can switch characters other than the one you made from you party, but the button scheme followed by the Top-Down view setting was just too much to take in on the first tutorial! "You Scrub! You just can't handle the gameplay is all!" Now hold on! I love games with complicated gameplay, it's just there is too much to know all at once and most are actually like a combo list for Street Fighter!

What is that symbol!? What is this, a kick? Which button is light punch? How to you do that!!?

I mean, you need a powerful mind to know all that! In order to access the map, you must press pause and access the properties shown in the pause menu. Once selected, press A to access storage. Once there, press and hold RT and preform Down Right Punch to enter you pouch. Once in pouch, dance in front of the Kinect sensor and wait until the light flashes green to access the map. Now to fast travel, first you...

OKAY MOVING ON!!!

The characters were one thing, the game had you meet characters like Varric or Cassandra in the beginning of the game, but most were greater than others. Some characters were bland and others were just emotionless. I mean, my most hated character was Solas. "Hey, StarterPack! You're crossing the line here!" I know! He is one of the fan favorites in the game, but god! I hate it how he just has mixed feeling about everything! Are you a friend or a god damn Spy, Solas? Choose! And smile for once you blank faced emo!

Besides the characters, the game had a decent story, most of it was constant side quests and traveling, but some of it was fun to explore and discover. "Looks like you're coming around, StarterPack..." I'm not done, common super fan. "Oh No!" And this is one of the things in the game, most of it is constant. You have to go fight this guy! You need to clear the village of raiders! The game is basically making you do the same thing over again making the game less fun and mostly used as a time consumer. "Now you're getting on my nerves, StarterPack!" Well, you're gonna have to get use to it, bra! "You dank f**ker!"

Besides all that, the game has great lore and background. The demons are awesome and the way the game looks is so cool. The game might be a downer for me, but this doesn't mean the game doesn't look good.

And this doesn't mean I hate this genre of gaming. I love to play games like Dark Souls, Skyrim, Diablo and even Fallen Empire. This game just do justice for me. I'm sure the game is a hit, but this is just my opinion. I hope I didn't hit you super fanboys too hard on this...

"Can I Name Three Ways You Hurt Me?"

Yes you can! Tell me in the comment section if I hurt in any way! And if you got any actual judgement on proving to me that this game is better than I see it, then I will friend automatically, but 'til next time...
