A long time ago, when I was in 7th grade or earlier, the Perris High School got a Teen Lounge. It had a pool table and a foosball table. Later they got a Hoop master and a GameCube donated by a fellow student. A small TV, two controllers and one game was played constantly and was the main attraction in the Teen Lounge. The game was the best game you could imagine for friends: Super Smash Melee.
As a year past by, a kid spilled a cup of Kool-Aid on the GameCube and TV ruining the game and experience. That same person who donated the GameCube donated a Wii with Smash Brawl as the game including New Super Mario. People ignored that game and just kept playing Brawl. The Teen Lounge was the best to be in the morning and after school. It was the loudest and best place ever.
When I arrived to that school, that same person donated a Wii U with the New Super Smash Bros. with Super Mario 3D World as he did it for a graduation gift to the school. I came and found students calling challenges for them to do and waiting for everyone to agree. Play Random, Bowser-Cide, Kirby Squad or even Omega Random. I came and got the controller nobody liked to use: the only GameCube controller that was left. It was the first time in years since I held a GameCube controller and I couldn't wait to play.
I played as best as I could and found out I was beating everyone. I got use to the controls and found out how to use combos for many characters. My main was Kirby and my most avoided character was R.O.B.. I played 3 matches as only 15 minutes past by. I get cocky and say "Is there anyone that can beat me?" At that moment I hear the words "Muricio is Here!" being screamed at the top of someone's lungs. I look and see this white-african american guy with a square hairdo. I challenge him with the other people with their Wiimotes. He gets the pad and picks Jiggypuff. I laugh as a kid whispers "Oh, you don't know, bro."
I wasn't afraid to fight him, I mean, I knew what I was getting into. After hearing what everyone said about him, I was grateful for a new challenger. He has the pad, I have the controller and everyone else has the wiimotes. He begins the match with a 3 stock life and only had the Smash Ball as the only item on. He chooses Omega Random and we begin. Everyone saying, "You better beat this noob, Muricio!" I ignore them and concentrate on the battle.
The camera faces Falco, Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff as the game starts. It pans out to show everyone else. I was in the edge. Someone could knock me off or suicide me. I kept my guard up as the announcer counted down from three to one. As he said "GO!" I jumped immediately away from the edge and got as many KO's as a I could. I notice that Jigglypuff is sleeping, but decide to ignore it. I continue to fight the others as I see three players fly off the screen. I see that Muricio starts to laugh and say "Get out of here!"
I got a few more KO's as I see Jigglypuff fight more frequent. There was one guy left with only one stock left. Me and Jigglypuff see him and try to rush him. We knew what we were doing, we wanted a 1v1 battle with full stock. I see Jigglypuff punch him and ring him out, getting a KO. I was amazed because he hit me in the process. I almost got out of the map. If I wasn't Kirby I don't think I would still have a full stock.
Everyone in the Lounge silenced. Their eyes stared at the screen as we both stood next to each other. I offer to shake my opponent's hand, he accepts and we start to fight. He tries to sleep me to death, but fails to do so. I punch him and suck him up with me B special. I take his powers and use it against him. In return he suicides me. We both have one 2 stocks. We fight to the point we both have 200% damage. He puts me to sleep right next to the side and suicides me again. We are both down to 1 stock.
After fighting for almost 20 minutes, a Smash Ball appears. We both scream it as we see it, "SMASH BALL!!" We race to it as it rises higher away from us. We both hit it and fall to the ground. I do my Up B and hit it once as I hit him at the same time. He gets back up and tries to hit the ball as I stop him. I jump over it and did my Down B and got it. "Yes!" I scream I get near Jigglypuff, ready to preform my final smash. I stand for a minute and wait for him to get near. I try it, but Jigglypuff puts me to sleep.
The rage I felt and the fear that I had behind my eyes almost blert it out in profanity. He begins to grab me and says "RKO!" as he beats the Smash Ball out of me. He gets it and preforms his final smash. I never seen Jigglypuff's final smash until then.
He starts to puff up into a larger Jigglypuff as I stood not knowing what he's going to do. I notice him laughing and looking at me as he got bigger and bigger until Jigglypuff touched me. I started to get tons of damage just by touching and it grew larger, having me get sinked in side of Jigglypuff. I got continuous damage, at least 4 damage each second. Everyone in the room started to scream and cheering saying, "Oh my god!" or "You just got beat!"
My percentage began to go over 200 as his final smash was almost done. I put my controller down as I accepted my defeat. I watched as my main, Kirby, was taken down by Jigglypuff, the hardest and silliest character to play as. As it finished, my last stock was gone. I saw Jigglypuff celebrate as Kirby as Second was clapping. I turned to my opponent and smiled as I offered to shake his hand. We shook and smiled as I was titled 4th best player in Smash.
